Eastern Oregon Sunset Run
This painting was inspired by the view on the return leg of an evening run in the mountains just south of La Grande. The magnitude of the solitude is heightened for the lone traveler as darkness approaches. At this point I had just reemerged into sunlight after a stretch through quickly darkening forest. I have to admit that there is sometimes an eery compulsion to look back to see what may be following, or watching me from that thicket of trees I just passed by!
